Prospective Majors (Internal Transfer Students) Drop-In Advising

What is an internal transfer student? Internal transfer students are students who already have a declared major in the Faculty of Arts (BA) or the Faculty of Science (BSc), and are wishing to switch their major to COGS.

Internal transfer students have the option for admittance to COGS at two points in the academic year. In addition to the usual May admissions for a Winter Term 1 (September) entry, we also have November admissions specifically for internal transfer students, in which accepted students will gain entrance to the program for Winter Term 2 (January).

Are you an internal transfer student who has questions about the application? Get your questions answered.

Here is what you can expect: students are admitted into the Zoom room for an individual advising session with the COGS Program Coordinator in the order in which they join the waiting room. Typical advising sessions range between 5~20 minutes. If the request/question which you are bringing with you into the session requires longer than 20 minutes of discussion, the Program Coordinator may ask you to return for a second session at a later date or continue the conversation with you via e-mail, as appropriate. Please keep in mind that, depending on how busy a session is and the order in which you joined the call, you may be in the waiting room for an extended period of time.
