The Cognitive Systems Program invites applications for part-time Sessional Lecturers for the 2023 Winter Session Term 2 (January-April 2024) to teach the following courses:

Course Descriptions

• COGS 303 Research Methods in Cognitive Systems
  Examination and comparison of the research methodologies of different disciplines relevant to cognitive systems.
•  COGS 401 Seminar in Cognitive Systems
  Interdisciplinary seminar integrating theory, methods, and current research topics.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a PhD.
• If you are applying to teach COGS 401, postgraduate qualification in computer science or a related area is required. Interdisciplinary research experience in computer science is desired.
• Applicants interested in applying to COGS 303 must have postgraduate qualification in Philosophy or a related area. Research experience in the philosophy of science is desired.
• Preference will be given to applicants with experience of team teaching at the intersection of Linguistics, Psychology, and Philosophy.

All positions are subject to funding and are governed by UBC’s “Agreement and Conditions of Appointment for Sessional Lecturers.” The minimum salary is $7,962.24 per 3-credit course (2022Winter).
